Professional artwork scanning service

We use artwork scanning as the first step to produce high-quality giclée prints. We focus on making accurate, fully color-managed, high-resolution scans from a wide range of source materials. Even if you don't plan to print your artwork right away, having a professional scan will ensure you have the optimal digital version for any future use.

We are a fine art print studio that works with artists using different mediums and sizes. In the digital age, archiving and digitizing art for online use is as important as making quality prints. Archival prints and giclees preserve the original artwork's essence, with unlimited reproduction possibilities.

This service is ideal for our giclée printing, canvas printing and photo printing services

Step 1

Select the size of artwork to be scanned

Here is a simple way to check if your artwork size is larger or smaller than A2. See diagram below.

  • A2 size is 420mm x 594mm, or 16.5 inch x 23.4 inch.
  • If your artwork is bigger than these dimensions, you should label it as A2+ on the website.
step 1
Step 2

Select the size of artwork to be scanned

The scan resolution determines how large you can reprint your artwork without losing quality and details. Higher resolution means larger prints, but also larger file size.

600dpi

600dpi: You can reprint your artwork 2-3 times bigger than the original size. For example, an A4 image can be scaled up to A3-A2 with original details and sharpness

1200dpi

1200dpi: You can reprint your artwork 4-6 times bigger than the original size. For example, an A4 image can be scaled up to A2-A1 with original details and sharpness

Can you scan art with your phone?

If you want to digitise your artwork, you may wonder if you can use your phone to do it. The answer depends on your goals and expectations and of course your budget. You can take a photo of your art with your phone, but you will not be able to capture all the details and textures of your painting. If you want to preserve your art for future use, such as printing and selling or sharing online, you should get a professional scan that will give you the best quality and resolution.

Is it better to scan or photograph art for prints?

We use high-resolution scanners that can produce images at 600dpi, which is ideal for printing, sharing and archiving your art. If you want to get a high-quality scan for your art, contact us today and we will be happy to assist you.
