“I paint landscapes and sometimes dogs and horses...and even people too in acrylics/mixed media.”
Helen Ahern, a painter and potter, grew up on a farm in County Limerick and now lives in Kilkenny.
She has a Degree in Ceramic Design from Limerick School of Art
and Design (LSAD) which led to a career in the ceramic industry including 25 years as manager of
Nicholas Mosse Pottery in Bennettsbridge, Co. Kilkenny.
She now devotes her time to painting with acrylics and mixed media on surfaces made from handmade paper which she
makes herself by recycling paper scraps. Helen enjoys the tactile process of making the handmade paper as it
feels akin to working with clay.
Her paintings are inspired by the wild Irish landscape and the mountains and the rivers surrounding where she
lives. Realism and some element of abstraction are often found residing side by side in her paintings.
When she's not painting landscapes, she paints animals and portraits. See Helen’s work on Instagram – @helenahern_art

are
high-quality, museum-standard, Fine Art Giclée prints. Giclée prints are printed with fade-resistant archival
inks,
which means that the prints will last over a hundred years without fading.
